Winter was born in Curitiba, Brazil, to the Brazilian mom and the American father. She relocated into Los Angeles, California, to attend the college of her choice. The band she formed, Winter, named after her name, was created by her in Boston in 2012. The band formed in 2012 and they released their debut album “Daydreaming”, on the following year through Lolipop Records. The EP is comprised of dreamy-pop and indie rock songs written by Winter. The band’s second album was released in 2014 “Tudo Azul”, also an EP of four tracks. Most the lyrics on the album are in Portuguese.
While working in the Winter group, Samira also gave birth to her own solo project titled “Samira’s Infinite Summer” in the middle of 2015. The entire songs in this project were recorded in Samira’s room and uploaded to Samira’s Infinite’s Bandcamp page. A single recorded in studio “Cafe”, was released on December 16, 2016 and it was promoted mostly via the Brazilian press, considering that the lyrics were composed in Portuguese. However, the band’s Facebook as well as Bandcamp pages were shut down in the year 2017.
Winter’s second studio album, “Ethereality”, was announced in February 2018, and is set to be released on April 6, 2018. “Ethereality” also marks the debut release by Everything Blue Records, Winter’s official record label.
