Ahmad is born at Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan on February 11, 1950. Her father was Director of Forests located in Pakistan’s West of Pakistan as was her mom, a a housewife. Her father passed away in 1965, and her mother died in the year 2018. She is the oldest of the five children she has. She has completed Masters at the level of Home Economics.

Ahmad got married to Pakistani filmmaker Fariduddin Ahmed, the son of veteran filmmaker W.Z. Ahmed who produced the well-known Pakistani film Waada (1957). The couple have a son and a daughter. Fariduddin was divorced from her few years before his demise in 1993. The reason for this was his love for actor Shamim Ara, whom later got was married to. Ahmad got married to the actor Manzar Sehbai on April 4, 2020 in the private Nikah wedding ceremony held in Lahore.

Ahmad was a professional who began her acting career in serious roles that aired on Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) However, she is well-known for her comedy roles such as Akkar Bakkar, Taal Matol, Alif Noon and Such Gup. She also appeared in the cult comedy series Family Front (1997 Comedy Drama TV Series). She recently appeared in another show on television called Side Order. Her move to comedy roles was extremely rewarding for her and she soon became the top media personality in Pakistan. When asked about the things she values most in her life ? … Her immediate response was “Humanity”. Samina Ahmad was just an 18-year-old college student from Lahore, Pakistan, when she began her first job with Pakistan Television Corporation. In her lengthy career, she also worked for the Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore as the Program Director for over more than two decades. Despite her busy professional life, Samina Ahmed has also been an active participant in the Women’s Action Forum in Pakistan.
