In the following years, he played for Catania as well as Salernitana in the same way, where continued to play despite the former club’s demotion into Serie C1 in 2005. The final club of the career of his was Battipagliese which He played in the Eccellenza series in the season 2005/06.
After another year with Serie B with Salernitana, in which the team narrowly missed advancement into Serie A, he was taken over from Inter at the end of 1995. Fresi was a part of the Milanese team from 2000 until winning a UEFA Cup in 1998. In the following year it was his turn to be loaned to Salernitana and was later loaned to Napoli in 2001-2002. The club he joined was Bologna at the beginning of 2001 and there it was possible to play more often and return to his former form. He even scored eight goals in the Bologna club. his performance earned him a spot at title-holders Juventus. While he started the 2002-03 campaign with the Turin team and scored the third goal of Juventus’s victory of 3-0 over Atalanta in the first game of the season, following his inclusion as a substitute during the second part of the team’s initial game of the season however, he was able to play only during Serie A, making only nine league appearances, and 16 appearances in all competitions. However he was a part of the team that won the scudetto in 2003-2002 Serie A season, and the 2002 Supercoppa Italiana. In the next season, he only had one appearance in the Coppa Italia match for Juventus in the Coppa Italia against Siena at the Coppa Italia. He ended up leaving the club in 2004and went in on loan at Perugia.
