Salvador “Bingbong” Campo Medialdea (born on 14th October 1951) is a Filipino lawyer, executive in the field of business and a government administrator who is currently the President of the Philippines succeeding Paquito Ochoa Jr. when he took over President Rodrigo duterte’s term on June 30, 2016.

Medialdea remains a partner of MABGS. MABGS Law firm which serves clients such as President Duterte. He also serves as director of Manchester International Holdings and Accette Insurance. He also was a bar examiner at the Supreme Court in 2006.

Medialdea has a wife, Betty Dizon, a lawyer and the head of an insurance firm, and they have a son. The family he is from has roots within Davao City, Aklan and Ilocos. In his spare time He enjoys playing the guitar and playing classical. He was among the organizers for Miss Saigon in Manila in 2000. Medialdea is the daughter of the former Supreme Court Associate Justice Leo D. Medialdea who was a judge from 1988 until 1992 under the presidency of Corazon Aquino. Born in Manila Medialdea, he was raised living in Davao City, where he was a close friend and a close associate of the former President Rodrigo Duterte. He was a student at Davao City’s Light Bringer School in the city, before returning to Manila to complete the high school years in Paco Catholic School. He earned his BS Commerce Major in Management from Colegio de San Juan de Letran in 1972. He then received earned his degree in law in 1976 from San Beda College of Law in the year 1976. His bar exam the following year.

From 1998 to 2000 he was chairman of his company, the Northern Foods Corporation based in Sarrat. He joined the government in 1998 with the Livelihood Corporation (now National Livelihood Development Corporation) at the request by the president, Joseph Estrada. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees as well as administrator of the corporation owned by the government in addition to serving as head of the Fund to Guarantee Small and Medium-sized Businesses. In 2000 the year 2000, he was appointed by Estrada as assistant to the president for political affairs.

On May 8, 2018, President Duterte created the National Quincentennial Committee for the 500th anniversary commemoration of the arrival of the Magellan-Elcano expedition in the Philippine islands, appointing Medialdea as chairman of the committee. They held their inaugural meeting on June 29, 2018 in Baler, Aurora.
