1982. She was born in N’Djamena. When she was two, her family was made to flee Chad because her father, who was the former head of the National Liberation Front Chad Khalil Alio, was detained by The government under Hissene Habre. In the end, Alio was born living in Marburg, Germany, whilst her father was enrolled in his doctorate. The family later relocated in Maiduguri, Nigeria, where she completed the Alliance Francaise exams in 1999. While in secondary school, Alio developed her interest in graphic arts and was a student of Gerard Leclaire. In 1999, she returned to Chad to the very first time, and started to study science at Farcha. Her sister is the famous singer Mounira Mitchala.

In 2013, the author was a co-author with her husband on the publication in 2013 of her book Aux vents des aleas de la vie (In the Wind of Life Hazards). The book is a collection stories where writers discuss issues such as polygamy, expropriation as well as homosexuality within Chad. The year 2014 saw her works were part of the publication Couleurs de l’Existence , a collection of short stories written from the six Chadian writers. In the publication, Salma wrote the short story Periple sur la reine du Guera (Journey of Queen Guera) The story tells the tale of two poachers who live on an island within the Guera region, who are guarded by spirits of Margai.

In 2016, the jury of the Joseph Brahim Seid Literary Award awarded her a special prize.

Alio was graphic designer at Tigo Tchad from 2008 to the year 2017. As a graphic designer, every month, Alio posts on the association’s Facebook page the episodes from his comic Debarquement an N’Djamena that chronicles stories of 3 teenage foreigners who reside in Chad. Alio is the first woman living in Chad to be cartoonist.
