Sadeque Hossain Khoka is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on May 12, 1952 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sadeque Hossain Khoka, 12 May 1952 – 4 Nov 2019, was a Bangladeshi politician. From 2002 to 2011, he was the 2nd Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation. He was vice chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and President of undivided Dhaka City BNP for the longest time of the organization’s existence.
Khoka in 2013 compared the crackdown against Hefazat protestors with the Pakistani crackdown of 25 March and Jalianwala Bagh massacries. Detective Branch police raided Sadeque Hossain Khaoka’s house and Andaleeve Rahman Partha, chairman of Bangladesh Jatiya Party, to respond.
Khoka quit as Dhaka’s mayor on November 29, 2011. On that day, the government passed a bill to divide DCC (Dhaka City Corporation), and renamed the two sections DCC North or DCC South.

Khoka was raised in a Muslim home. His father was an engineer, and his mother was a social worker. Khoka completed his M.A. at Dhaka University. in Psychology. He fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War at 19 years old. He worked in organizing soccer and rose to the position of General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan Football Association, as well as Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation. Khoka was the main person behind the Brothers Union football club.
Khoka was elected first to the Jatiyo Sangshad, a national legislature, in 1991. He was also elected to the Jatiyo Sangshad (national legislature) in 1991. In 1996 and 2001, Khoka was also elected from his constituency. Khoka was appointed Cabinet Minister of Fisheries and Livestock after the victory of Bangladesh Nationalist Party in 2001. He was elected to the Dhaka City Corporation Mayorship election and won. On April 25, 2002, he was elected Mayor of Dhaka. He was both the Minister and Mayor of Dhaka from 2002 to 2004, when he resigned.
Khoka died from cancer on 4 November 2019 in New York.
