This is where she believes she got her talent to rap and sing. Washington met Alesha Dixon in 1999 and soon became a duo. When Alesha Dixon and Sabrina were both auditioning, they met Su-Elise Nash, and formed a trio. With Zena McNally as a member, they were signed to Inferno Records and formed the UK’s popular R&B/garage girl group Mis-Teeq. After the single “Why?” was released, Zena McNally left the band to pursue her solo career. Zena McNally, Mis-Teeq and Telstar Records signed a second record deal.

In 2001, Alesha and Sabrina released their debut album Lickin’ On Both Sides. It contained the hits “Allie”, “One Night Stand”, and “B With Me”. Their second album Eye Candy, featuring hits like “Scandalous”, “Can’t Get it back” and “Style” was released in 2003. They toured the United States following the release of their second album, Eye Candy, and in 2004, released their American debut album Mis-Teeq. It was a compilation from the albums Lickin’ on Both Sides, Eye Candy, and Eye Candy.

The last release from Lickin’ on Both Sides was a double A-side of “Roll on” and the Montell Jordan cover “This Is How We Do It”, latter song being featured on the soundtrack for Ali G’s 2002 film Ali G Indahouse. This release entered the charts at No. 7 on 29 June 2002.

In 2002, the band’s fourth single, “B with Me”, continued the group’s remarkable sales with another top 10 entry in the UK; once again entering at No. 5.

In June 2001, the remaining three women released their second single “Alli Want”, which was co-written by David Brant. It was produced and remixed in part by Ceri Evans (a.k.a Sunship). It was a hit and reached No. The song reached No. 2 in the UK and also entered the Top 30 on the Australian singles charts.
