Ryuzo Morioka is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on October 7, 1975 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Morioka was born October 7, 1975 in Yokohama. After graduating high school, he joined Kashima Antlers 1994. In August 1995, he moved to Shimizu S-Pulse. He was a regular center back in many matches. The club won the 1996 J.League Cup as well as 2001 J1 League. The club was awarded the 1999-2000 Asian Cup Winners Cup Champion’s Cup, and the 3rd Asian Cup Winners Cup 2000-01. His opportunity to play has decreased since 2005. In 2007, he moved to Kyoto Sanga FC, a J2 League club. He was the club’s captain, and in 2007 the club was promoted into J1 League. He retired at the end of the 2008 season.

After retirement, Morioka started coaching career at Kyoto Sanga FC in 2009. After serving as a coach for the top team and as a manager for the youth team, he was removed from that role in 2014. He then moved to Sagawa Printing Kyoto as a coach. He became a manager at J3 League club Gainare Tottori in 2017. Gainare’s results were poor and they finished in the bottom 17 clubs. In June 2018, Gainare was 7th in the club’s rankings, and he was fired.

Morioka made his debut for Japan’s national team against Brazil on March 31, 1999. He was a regular player after his debut and played in all matches, including the 1999 Copa America. As Masami Ihara’s successor, he primarily played the role of central defender in three matches. In many matches, he was also the captain. He was over-age for the 2000 Summer Olympics and was elected Japan’s U-23 national team captain in September 2000. He was captain for 3 games. He also participated in the 2000 Asian Cup. He was present for all six matches, and Japan was crowned champions. He also participated in the 2001 Confederations Cup, where Japan took 2nd place. He was unable to play in 2002 due to injury. He was elected Japan’s 2002 World Cup captain. In the first match against Belgium, he served as captain. However, he was hurt and had to be replaced. He was elected Japan’s second manager in 2003 by Zico, after the 2002 World Cup. His last match for Japan was against Argentina on June 8, 2003. He was not a player in the match, even though he was a member Japan’s 2003 Confederations Cup team in June. He played 38 games in Japan between 2003 and 2003.
