Ueyama was the Pride FC’s debutant against Sean Sherk on February 15, 2004. Ueyama lost by decision. He lost his second fight for Pride to IkuhisaMinowa via split decision. Ueyama lost by TKO to Ryuta Sakurai on 18 December 2004 when he returned to DEEP.
Ueyama returned to the DEEP organisation once again in 2009 with a decision victory over Kosei Kubota. Later in 2009 he lost decision against Hidehiko Hasegawa at DEEP – 44 Impact. Ueyama drew his last fight to date against Hidetaka Monma on 17 April 2010.
Ueyama entered DEEP Middleweight on 9 June 2002. To win the tournament, he defeated Takaharu Murahama and Seiki Ryo before beating Eiji Itshikawa in final. His record is now 9-6-4 after he beat Gilson Ferreira at DEEP-6th Impact in September. In March 2003, he lost to Hayato Sakurai. Ueyama fought Masanori Suda on 15 September 2003 to defend his title. The fight ended in a draw.

Ueyama started his mixed martial arts career at Rings – Fighting Integration VI on 21 September 1998. By decision, he lost to Yasuhito Namakawa. Ueyama lost again to Namekawa by decision on 21 Feb 1999. Ueyama won his first Rings Australia win less than one month later. In round 1, he beat Dennis Kefalinos with a kneebar. On 23 April 1999, in Japan, he was disqualified from his next fight against Lee Hasdell for eye gouging. He remained unbeaten for more than a year after his fight against Hasdell. He won over Tim Thomas, Yasuhito Namakawa, and Willie Peeters. He also won over Lloyd Berg, Dave Menne, and Kosei Kbota. Ueyama lost to Sokun Koh in Rings – Battle Genesis Vol. 7.
Ueyama drew again with Koseikubota on August 18, 2001 at DEEP- 2nd Impact. A month later, he lost against Kiuma Kunioku in Pancrase 2001 Anniversary Show. In December 2001, he returned to DEEP and defeated LaVerne Clark via TKO. He lost by decision to Kazuo Miaki at Pancrase- Spirit 2.
He made his Hero’s debut in 2006 on Hero’s 5 with a decision loss to Rani Yahya. This match was the opening round of Hero’s 2006 Lightweight Grand Prix. Ueyama was submitted by Vitor Ribeiro on 12 March 2007 at Hero’s 8.
