Ryan Adam Rene Jean Spilborghs, born September 5, 1979, is an American broadcaster of baseball for AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain and SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio. He is also a former professional baseball player.
After being defeated by veteran Steve Finley for a spot on the roster, he began the 2007 season at Triple A with the Sky Sox. Spilborghs was able to return to the team after Finley was released from the Rockies. He was the fourth outfielder and joined the team in spring training 2008.
On August 24, 2009, in the 14th inning against the San Francisco Giants with the Rockies down 4-2, Spilborghs homered off pitcher Merkin Valdéz for the first game-winning grand slam in Rockies history.
On December 12, 2011, Spilborghs was non-tendered by the Rockies and became a free agent.
On July 16, 2005, he made his Major League debut with the Rockies against the Cincinnati Reds. He recorded his first hit in that match, a single to right- field off of Todd Coffey. He did not play in any other games for the Rockies in 2005. Instead, he spent the remainder of the year at AAA with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox where he hit.338 over 68 games. In 2006, he returned to the Rockies and scored his first home run against Jim Brower from the San Diego Padres.
