Ryan David Langerhans, born February 20, 1980, is an American former professional baseball catcher. Langerhans was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round 1998 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his debut in 2002. Langerhans also played Major League Baseball with the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Toronto Blue Jays.

Langerhans made his major league debut in 2002. However, Langerhans didn’t become a regular big-league player until 2005. He was eventually able to play for the Braves at all three positions. Langerhans is one of 18 rookies Atlanta called the “Baby Braves”, which Atlanta recalled from its minor league system during 2005.

Langerhans started 2006 as the Braves regular left fielder but a severe drop- off in his production from 2005 combined with the hot hitting of Matt Diaz resulted in a drop in Langerhans’s playing time. By the end of the 2006 season, he was a platoon left-fielder, with Matt Diaz as his right-handed partner. Scott Thorman often also took starts from Langerhans as the left- handed part of the left-field platoon.
