Kurt Koski, born February 7, 1958, is an American professional wrestler. His ring name is Rusty Brooks. He has been a part of several North American independent promotions including International World Class Championship Wrestling, Florida Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance. In the mid-1980s, he was a preliminary wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation.
He signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and was featured extensively on WWF Championship Wrestling against Tony Parisi and Andre the Giant. Brooks fought Hulk Hogan, the WWF World Champion in 1985. He also faced Mike Rotunda, then World Tag Team Champions, and the British Bulldogs. Brooks was primarily a heel jobber in the WWF. This is a wrestler who makes top stars look good. Brooks often teamed up with Barry O, Steve Lombardi and Mr. X to compete in tag team competition. Brooks also won upset victories over his former partners.
On July 31, 2004, Brooks refereed a match during the HCW Incredible 8 Tournament in Davie, Florida. He called a bout between his son, Jeff “J-Dawg” Brooks and Jimmy Rave. On February 4, 2006, he was honored by Nick Mayberry with an HCW Award, along with three other Florida wrestlers.
He left the WWF in 1985 and began competing on the independent circuit. His stints in International Championship Wrestling were as Super Duper Mario. He was involved in independent promotions for the next ten years, winning several tag team titles along with Dr. Red Roberts and Jumbo Baretta. He competed in Florida for Global Championship Wrestling from 1986 to 1987. He won the Global tag team title with Jumbo Barretta, Dean, and Joe Malenko. Ox Baker, a veteran wrestler, and later Boris Malenko managed Brooks and Barretta. They fought with The Soul Patrol, and the Malenko brothers.

Kosski taught students at his Rusty Brooks Pro-Wrestling Academy, which was located in his backyard in late 1980s. It also operated out of a warehouse in 1990s. In Florida, he later ran the “School of Hard Knocks”, a wrestling school. The school trained Konnor and Luna Vachon as well as MVP, Gangrel and Angel Rose students.
Boris Malenko and Jim Isler trained Koski. Brooks made his debut against Steve Brody in Buddy Gilbert’s World Wrestling Association on October 31, 1982.
He later wrestled for Future of Wrestling (FOW), where he won the heavyweight and hardcore titles during the late 1990s and was named “Wrestler of the Year” by FOW. In 2001, he began teaming with Bobby Brooks as The Brooks and later The Masked Assassins in FOW and the Independent Professional Wrestling Association. During his time in southern Florida, he also faced Hack Meyers, Barry Horowitz, and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine before his retirement in 2002.
