Rumen Radev is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on June 18, 1963 in Dimitrovgrad, Haskovo, Bulgaria. Radev was born in Dimitrovgrad (Bulgaria) on June 18, 1963. His family hails from Slavyanovo, Haskovo. He graduated with a gold medal from Haskovo’s Mathematical School in 1982. In 1987, he was the Georgi Benkovski Bulgarian Air Force University’s top graduate. He graduated from Maxwell AFB’s US Air Force Squadron Officer Training School in 1992. He was the highest-ranking graduate of the Rakovski Defence and Staff College from 1994 to 1996. He is a Doctor in Military Sciences with a focus on the improvement of tactical training for flight crews and simulations of air combat.

Rumen Radev received numerous medals and prizes. These included the honorary sign of Saint George Ministry of Defence (“Saint George”) – III degree.

Radev has enjoyed positive approval ratings for the vast majority of his presidency. Having been elected with around 60% of the vote in the Fall 2016 Election, he managed to keep that figure as his approval rating through to 2018.

On the first round of the election, conducted on November 6, 2016, Radev came first with 25.44% of the vote. He faced GERB candidate Tsetska Tsacheva in the runoff the following Sunday, November 13. He defeated her, winning 59.37% of the popular vote.

He graduated with honors from Air War College, Maxwell AFB, USA in 2003 with a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies.

Rumen Georgiev Rdev (Bulgarian Rumen Georgiev Rasdev; born 18 June 1963), is a former major general and politician from Bulgaria. He is currently the President of Bulgaria. Radev was previously Commander of the Bulgarian Air Force. Radev was an independent candidate, supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party and defeated Tsetska Tsacheva, the GERB candidate, in the 2016 presidential election.

In the 1980s, Radev joined the Bulgarian Communist Party. Later, he stated that his main reason for joining the party was to be able to fly in a supersonic plane. However, he also said that he wasn’t ashamed of his past and was proud about the things that he had done. In 1990, a new law prohibited members of the country’s armed forces to be members of any political party. He quit the party. Since then, he has been an outsider to no political party. His candidacy for the 2016 election was supported by an independent committee that is affiliated with the Socialist Party of the country and not by formal nominations by any party.

Radev has two children from his first marriage to Ginka Radeva, which ended in a divorce in 2014: a daughter Darina, born in 2001 and a son Georgi, born in 2003.
