Lewis attended JSerra Catholic High school in San Juan Capistrano. After hitting.429 and four home runs, Lewis was named the Los Angeles Times High School Baseball Player of the Year as a junior. He was the MVP of the Perfect Game All-American Classic at Petco Park and the Under Armour All-American Game in Wrigley Field during the summer 2016. Lewis was a third baseman and outfielder his first three years in high school, before moving to shortstop his senior year.
