Two years later, he earned a master’s degree in history from Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State University). Blunt was a high school history teacher at Marshfield High School from 1970 to 1972, and later taught at Southwest Baptist University and as a member of the adjunct faculty at Drury University.
