Rossa was born on 9th October 1978 in Sumedang (West Java, Indonesia). The Best of Rossa, her second compilation album, ranked 10th on the Indonesian All-Time Best Selling Albums List with more than 1.5 million copies. Love, Life & Music, her solo album, was also the Indonesian Record World Museum’s (MURI) and Indonesia Recording Industry Associations (ASIRI), highest-selling Indonesian album with more than 100,000 copies sold per day. Rossa’s songs were used in over 149 soundtrack titles.

Rossa also sang “Marilah Kemari” with various artists who were also involved in the making of this album.

Rossa’s 1999 album Tegar was released. It received four Platinum Awards. In 2000, she won the MTV Indonesia Award as Favorite Female Artist. She also received The Potential Star Award from Bintang Magazine and The Magical star by Cek&Ricek. The single “Tegar”, which was used in the soap opera “Suami, Istri & Dia” (RCTI), was also used. The album Tegar was released in Malaysia by BMG Music in 2000.

Her second single “Biarkan Cinta itu Ada” from the album Tegar was also used as the soundtrack of the soap opera Tersayang in Brunei Darussalam in 2001.
