Ross Peter Gload, born April 5, 1976, is an American former professional baseball outfielder and first baseman. Over a period of ten seasons, he played for six Major League Baseball (MLB), outfielders.

Gload participated in two deals with New York Mets during January 2002. He first moved to the Mets as part of a three-team, eleven-player trade and then was purchased by Colorado. Gload batting average was.258 in limited action with Colorado. He also had four RBIs and a home run.

On December 16, 2006, Gload was traded to the Kansas City Royals for relief pitcher Andrew Sisco. In 2007, with Kansas City, Gload logged career highs in at-bats and RBIs, being used as a starter more than in the past. He batted .288 with seven homers and 51 RBIs in 102 games.

During the 2007–2008 offseason, Gload signed a two-year Major League contract with Kansas City.

Gload was picked by the Florida Marlins in the 13th round, 1997 amateur draft. Gload was traded to the Chicago Cubs with Dave Noyce, a minor leaguer, on July 31, 2000 at the trade deadline for Henry Rodriguez. Gload made his Major League debut with the Cubs on August 31, 2000. Gload was claimed by the Colorado Rockies on September 12, 2001. However, he did not participate in any major league games that season.

Gload was born in Springs, Long Island, New York. He set many county and high school home run records. Gload received the “Carl Yastremski Award” from the Suffolk County Baseball Coaches Association, which recognizes the best high school baseball player in Suffolk County. New York’s high school records include 41 home runs in his career and 20 in 1994. His most memorable high school moment was probably the Suffolk County Championship game. Gload did not appear in a Major League uniform in 2003, but in 2004 and again in 2006, he saw significant duty with the White Sox. He batted .321 in 2004 with seven homers and 44 RBIs, finishing seventh in the American League Rookie of the Year voting.
