Rood Adeo is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on November 10, 1970 in Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. Rood Adeo (born Roderik Adeo Jansz, 10 November 1970, in Nijmegen) is a Dutch singer- songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist. His musical influences include folk, rock, blues and classical music. Adeo’s versatile voice can be heard in a variety of timbres, from tenor to basses. It is a mix between a loud, high-pitched sound and a more duskier, harsher tone. Adeo was the founder of the band Rood & nighthawks at the Diner. He also recorded a variety of albums under various names and was accompanied by a diverse line-up musicians. Adeo plays guitar, piano, and occasionally with other keyboards like accordion and cajon.

In 2012, Mindful Indifference is being released on the label Supertracks/Challenge Records International. Adeo began his experimentation as a sound-engineer by producing and recording single-miced songs, while also playing many of the instruments. OOR Music Magazine considers the album “an important landmark in the interesting music industry”. Rood Adeo moves to Kroese Records in March 2018. Voluntary Intakes will be released by Kroese Records in October 2018. This album is the first in a series and includes seventeen tracks. It also contains live recordings and new recordings. Adeo says the title refers to the desire to be free from assumptions. In a 2018 interview, Adeo explained that every intake and assumption should be voluntary. Our way of living has become a maze of involuntary assumptions built on older, unconscious assumptions. All assumptions are made by those who believe in God, legal systems, and universal human rights. It’s fiction, voluntary or involuntary. We must stop making assumptions if we are to achieve mental or spiritual freedom.

Adeo Records Rood & Emanuel Retrato was a Portuguese non-traditional fado album. It was recorded in 2000 by Adeo and Emanuel Pessanha, fado singer. Rood & Nighthawks of the Diner arrange four Kurt Weill tracks for the Weill-edition at Wroclaw’s Theatre Festival 2000. Rood Adeo’s renditions of “I’m a Stranger here Myself” (and “Lost in the Stars”) appear on his albums Transit Cellophane, and Perfect Life. Adeo’s Nighthawks at the Diner-album Transit Cellophane, which was released in 2002 on the label NWR/EMI. He performs in Denmark, records Jessie Mae Robinson’s “The Other Woman”, for the Nina Simone tribute record Greetings From Nijmegen. On which he also accompany Dutch Idols finalist Maud Mulder, “Everything Must Change”. Adeo’s live performances have been critically acclaimed. Reviews highlight Adeo’s impeccable timing and dynamic, expressive piano playing. Although Adeo calls his lyrics non- political, Adeo withdrew his contributions to school music in 2010 when Geert Wilders, the Dutch populist politician, actively participated in the Dutch minority government. Adeo stated that he didn’t want to be paid by the Department of Education as long as it was being managed by people who behave like CEO’s of an absurdly onworthy political hedge fund. Adeo returned to teaching after the dismantling and reorganization of the cabinet. Rood & Nighthawks closed the Night of Poetry Festival at Vredenburg Concert Hall Utrecht in March 2006. “Observant Spectator”, a poem by Frank Boeijen, is now available on DVD Dichters in Woord en Beeld. Adeo composed the music for Frank Boeijen’s song “Verloren Street” (Lost City) in May 2006. It is now being released on DVD As. His song “The Waltzes. The Polkas. And The Sad Songs” from Greece is on the 2008 album Muzine Three Red & White Mood. Adeo records the ROOD & Nighthawks at Perfect Life’s Diner-Album in 2009 with producer Loek Schurievers. Perfect Life also features Adeo singing “Baby Don’t You Like My New Tattoo” with bariton Ernst Daniel Smid.

This is evident in songs like “King in Yellow”, which is based on Pachelbel’s Canon, and “To Be A Man,” which opens with the postlude from Chopin’s Nocturne in D major, Op. 32, No. 1). Adeo frequently mentions his love for Nat King Cole’s Ludwig van Beethoven, Nina Simone and J.J. Cale. However, he presumably was most influenced by Robert Wyatt and Tom Waits. Adeo, in a tribute to Waits, makes his debut on stage at the 1995 Midsummer Blues Festival Wijchen, frontman of his band “Nighthawks at the Diner”, referring to Waits 1975 live album.
