Seikaly’s rebounding average increased to 11.1 rebounds per match while maintaining his 16 point per game average. The Heat then acquired other young players such as Glen Rice or Steve Smith to provide scoring options. Seikaly’s average of 16 points and 11 rebound was again 6th in the league. Seikaly’s career with Miami saw him setting numerous team records, including blocks (8), rebounds (34) and double–doubles. During his run with the Heat, he had the nickname “The Spin Doctor”, due to his trademark low-post spin moves. On November 2, 1994, Seikaly was traded to the Golden State Warriors.

The Miami Heat drafted Seikaly into the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was the 9th pick in the 1988 draft. This was also the first Heat pick. Seikaly was awarded the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 1990. He also played for the Golden State Warriors and New Jersey Nets, as well as the FC Barcelona in Spain. Seikaly was also part the U.S. national basketball team that won gold at the 1986 FIBA World Championship. Seikaly retired from basketball to become a successful real-estate developer. Seikaly also worked as a producer/DJ in electronic music and hosts a radio show, “Sugar Free Radio”, Sirius/XM.
