Ron Keel founded Fair Game in 1990. He was joined by four female backing musicians. Two songs that the band recorded were included on the soundtrack of Bad Channels. The complete recordings were finally released on the Metal Mayhem label, billed as Beauty & The Beast.
In 2000, Ron Keel formed IronHorse, which mixed country with southern rock. He left the band in 2007 to focus on other aspects of his career. He also performed as part of a Brooks & Dunn tribute band in the Country Superstars Tribute at the Fitz Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 2008. prior to reforming his band Keel, Ron Keel formed a band named K2. K2 featured himself on vocals and guitar, and performed many of the songs from his earlier career.
He was briefly the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath in 1984. After recording demos with the band, he parted ways with Spencer Proffer after the band had an argument over creative differences.

Ron Keel began his musical career in Tennessee with the band Lust. His band Steeler, which included Rik Fox, Yngwie Malmsteen and Mark Edwards, brought him to Los Angeles. In 1983, Steeler released a self-titled album on Shrapnel Records. Malmsteen, who was the first to leave Steeler in 1983, chose to play with Alcatrazz (featuring Graham Bonnet), before finding success with his own band.
Keel, after the death of Steeler, formed a new group and called it Keel. The band signed a record deal to Gold Mountain/A&M Records. Keel sold over 2 million records between 1984 and 1989. KISS bassist Gene Simmons was the vocalist and producer of two Keel albums, The Right to Rock (with Gene Simmons as bassist), and The Final Frontier (with The Final Frontier). In 2008, the band regrouped and toured to celebrate its 25th anniversary. They still perform at occasional events such as the Monsters Of Rock Cruises or the M3 Festival.
Ron Keel returned to the heavy metal music scene in 1997, when he collaborated with Japanese guitarist Akihito Kinoshita on Project One, the major label debut album from Kinoshita’s band Saber Tiger.
