- He is best known for his fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s featherweight division. He was the Abu Dhabi Warriors featherweight champion. He is the son Rolando Navarrete, former WBC World super featherweight champion.
On June 23, 2018, at UFC Fight Night 132, Dy faced Shane Young. In the second round, he lost via technical knockout. He was awarded his first Fight of the Night Award for this fight. He was later released by UFC.
Dy tried to make his first ADW title defense against Do Gyeom Lee at ADW 6 on October 18, 2019, but lost the bout via knockout.
After being released by the UFC, Dy fought in two Middle East based promotions and captured the Abu Dhabi Warriors featherweight Championship on May 6, 2019.

Dy confirmed via email that he had been cut from the roster after two consecutive losses. He was however offered a fight against UFC Newcomer Wuliji Buren on UFC Fight Night, Bisping vs. Gastelum November 25, 2017. Dy weighed in at 150 lbs., which is two more than the limit for featherweight. He forfeited 20% of the purse to Buren, and the fight was held at a catchweight. Dy won the fight unanimously.
In UFC Fight Night: Saint Preux against Okami, Dy took on Teruto Ishihara on September 23, 2017. He was defeated by Teruto Ishihara in a unanimous decision. If Dy had not deducted points for repeatedly striking Ishihara in the groin, the bout would have been a draw. The scores were 28-27, 28-27% and 29-27%.
After the title loss, Dy returned to Brave CF, facing Anzor Abdulkhozhaev at Brave CF 33 on December 27, 2019. He lost the bout via technical knockout in the first round.
