Rodolfo Roberto Dickson Sommers, a Mexican Canadian male alpine skier, was born 11 July 1997. He won the Super-G race in January 2015, becoming the first Mexican to win an International Ski Race.

Dickson began skiing when he was 6 years old, while on vacation with his family to Mont Tremblant Resort, Quebec. He skied with the Milton Heights Racing Club, Ontario, where he won many medals and trophies. In 2011, he graduated from Mountain View Public School, Collingwood, Ontario. After graduating from Mountain View Public School in Collingwood, Ontario in 2011, he joined the National Ski Academy, which is located in Collingwood (Ontario), where he remained for five years. He won bronze, silver, and gold medals at the academy in U18 and K2 age classes. He won the Overall FIS Gold Medal in Whiteface, New York State, during his final year at academy. In January 2015, he won the Overall FIS Gold Medal at Whiteface. This was the first international race that a Mexican national had won on an FIS circuit. The academy graduated him with the most FIS points for the class of 2015, as well as honours as an Ontario Scholar. After graduating high school, he moved to the United States and Canada to train. He moved to the UK’s Ambition Ski Racing Academy and began full-time training at the FIS program, Leogang, Austria, in October 2015. In this capacity, he represented Mexico as an FIS alpine ski racer.

Dickson qualifies for the 2018 Winter Olympics, in men’s giant slalom and slalom. His Olympic effort is self-funded. He represents the Mexican team of Alpine skiing, along with Sarah Schleper. Another two athletes also hope to make the Olympics for Mexico, Robby Franco in freestyle skiing, Sandra Hillen in snowboard. He qualified for the 2018 Olympics, alongside alpinist Sarah Schleper, freestyler Roberto Franco, and cross-country skier Germán Madrazo.
