He is an American rock and pop singer/musician. He is the son of Johnny Burnette. He is most well- known for his 1980 hit song “Tired Of Toein’ The Line”, which he co-wrote and recorded with Ron Coleman. Coleman previously wrote, recorded, and performed with The Brothers Grim and The Everly Brothers.

Burnette co-wrote “You Got Away With Love”, a European hit, for Percy Sledge. It was produced in 1997 by Barry Goldberg and Saul Davis. Burnette continues to perform internationally at various rockabilly shows.

Burnette was a collaborator with Rosie Flores (and Dwight Twilley) in the mid- 1990s. She also contributed vocals to the song “Trouble Is I’m In Love With You” from Paul Burlison’s 1997 Train Keep A-Rollin’. Burnette released Tear It up on Core Records in 1996.
