Roberto Borge Angulo is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on December 29, 1979 in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico. He is the nephew of Miguel Borge Martin (3rd Governor of Quintana Roo, 1987-1993). From 2002 to 2003, he was the head of public relations for the Department of Economic Development of the Quintana Roo government. In 2003, he became the private secretary of Felix Gonzalez Canto. Borge remained his private secretary until Gonzalez Canto was elected Governor in 2005. Gonzalez Canto appointed Borge as the General Treasurer of State and Chief Clerk of Government when he took office. He resigned in order to be president of the PRI party of Quintana Roo.

Roberto Borge Angulo, a Mexican politician, is affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He was the 7th Governor for Quintana Ro (2011-2016). The Mexican Government declared him a criminal after he finished his term. This was due to the fact that he had committed corruption while he was governor. Roberto Borge was detained at an Airport in Panama on June 5, 2017.

Borge was arrested for money laundering on 31 May 2017. Borge was about to board a plane for Paris when he was stopped at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama on June 4, 2017.
