Carson signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers in May 2014. He was then assigned to the AAA Chattanooga Lookouts. After a 2.12 ERA in 11 appearances with the Lookouts, he was promoted to the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes where he was 2-5 with a 5.41 ERA over 18 games. He was invited to Major League Spring Training 2015 by the Dodgers, but he did not receive a invite from the team. After Carson tested positive for a drug or abuse, he was suspended for 50 games. In June, the Dodgers released Carson.
He signed with the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League for the 2016 season. He was released on May 9, 2016.
Carson was traded to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League on May 26. He became a free agent after the 2017 season.
Carson began the 2013 season with Triple-A Las Vegas 51s. He was called up by The Mets on April 21, when Aaron Laffey became available for assignment. Carson was again sent to Triple-A Las Vegas in June 2013. He pitched 31 games in two seasons for the Mets with a 6.82 ERA.

The New York Mets selected Carson in the 14th round, 2007 MLB Draft from Hattiesburg High School. He began the 2012 season with the Eastern League’s Class-AA Binghamton Mets. He was promoted to the majors by the Mets on April 24, but he did not make an appearance before being sent back to Binghamton. D. J. Carrasco, Carson’s manager, was designated for assignment and he was recalled to New York on May 17. On May 18, 2012, Carson made his major league debut pitching a scoreless relief inning against the Toronto Blue Jays. This resulted in a loss of 14-5 Mets.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim claimed Carson off waivers on October 17, 2013. He pitched 14 games for AAA Salt Lake Bees, going 0-1 with a 10.34 ERA. He was released by the Angels on May 10, 2014.
Carson signed with the Bridgeport Bluefish on June 16, 2015. He became a free agent after the 2015 season.
