Rita Eriksen, a Norwegian singer, also had a solo career. She released her first solo album Back from Wonderland in 1988. Together with Dolores Keane, an Irish singer, she recorded and released Tideland.

She formed the duo Eriksen in 1989. It was a Norwegian duo that included Rita (vocals) and Frank Eriksen (guitar and vocals), her brother. The duo performed music in the roots/country/blues/show genre. The duo recorded four studio albums, the first two with English subtitles. The 1992 Norwegian Grammy Award 1992 for roots and country music was awarded to the duo for their debut album Two Blue. They collaborated with many artists, including Delbert McClinton, an American blues musician. Rita Eriksen sang a duet on “Movin’ Time”, written by Jeff Wasserman (and Torstein Flakne) for the album Two Blue. Eriksen sold 170,000 albums combined. In spring 2009, Sony BMG released Eriksen – De aller beste (The best) compilation album. The campaign heavily promoted the album, which reached #1 on the Norwegian albums charts and was certified platinum. Frank, in addition to being a member the duo since 2000, was also a member the Irish-inspired band The Tramps.

She returned in 2014 releasing her new solo album Øyeblikk.
