Rick Apodaca, a former professional basketball player from Puerto Rico was born July 1, 1980. Apodaca played in the NCAA and USBL, NBDL and the National Superior Basketball League of Puerto Rico, (BSN), with the Arecibo Captains Bayamon Cowboys San German Athletics, Leones de Ponce, and Arecibo Captains. Apodaca also played professional basketball for Italy, Turkey, and Poland. Apodaca was part of the senior Puerto Rican National Basketball Team, which defeated the United States at 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

The 2005 off-season saw the Arecibo Captains trade Apodaca to San German Athletics in exchange for Larry Ayuso. He was also a member of the Huntsville Flight in NBDL. Apodaca was a member of Polpak Swiecie in the 2005-06 Polish League season. Apodaca was a member of Scafati Basket in the LBA in Italy during the 2006-07 season. He was chosen to participate in the league’s All- Star Game. His average scoring of 19.7 points per match ranked him fourth.

Apodaca also played with the Turkish club Beşiktaş Cola Turka, in that country’s national league championship, and in the EuroCup. He played with the Santurce Crabbers, in the semifinals of the 2008 National Superior Basketball season.

Apodaca was a Hofstra basketball player who made his debut in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in 1999.
