Worrall was born in St. Helens on Merseyside. He is the older of the twins and the second to be a speedway rider, Steve Worrall. He started out as a motocross rider and made his speedway league debut in 2010 with the National League’s Scunthorpe Saints. For 2011, he was signed by Premier League Newcastle Diamonds, with whom he won the Premier Shield, also continuing to ride in the National League with Sheffield/Scunthorpe, for whom he averaged 7.75 over a season in which the team won the league. In 2012, he remained with Newcastle, where he was joined in his brother’s footsteps. He also rode in both the National League for Stoke Potters as well as in the Elite League together with the Lakeside Hammers.

He qualified for the World Under-21 Final in June 2012, becoming the first British rider to do this for three years. His season was ended by a double injury to his leg from a crash at Workington.

For the 2017 Season, Richie has only signed for the Glasgow Tigers, after promotion at Belle Vue decided that he wasn’t going to be in their 2017 team- building plans.
