A book was also published about its development. This model, also known by the Equity School model, has been used in 25 other schools across the United States. Many of these schools are associated with the CristoRey Network, which supports and promotes replication of the model. A patent is pending for the model as a business process, which includes applications to charter schools.

Murray’s views about human rights led him to become active in helping to create a refugee centre for Chicago’s Bosnian population during the mid-1990s. He also published the article “Compensating World’s Landmine Victims : Legal Liability & Anti-Personnel Landmine Producers”, and took roles with the American Refugee Committee and the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University School of Law and Human Rights Watch.
