He then joined Makerere University to complete his master’s degree, and CIM to obtain a postgraduate diploma. Musani has a Master’s degree in Marketing from Makerere University, and a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma (Marketing) from CIM.
Musani managed the development and management of Radiant, a new hair care brand, and Skin Guard, which is a skin care brand, amongst other personal care brands at MPL. Musani has been instrumental in the expansion of the personal care business to export markets. The cross-functional team of 120 employees he leads provides collateral support to all markets within the COMESA regional trading bloc. Musani was part the team that created the African SME Master Plan in October 2015. This plan was developed under the direction of the African Union Commission. Musani was part of the team that published the first African Journal of Management in the first quarter of 2016. This initiative was undertaken by GIZ and the East African Community (EAC). Musani is also Rimusan Limited’s principal consultant.

Richard Musani, a chartered Ugandan marketing executive, SME advisor, automotive expert, and columnist, was born June 15, 1985. Movit Products Ltd. is his personal care company. He was also the branch manager at Kampala Motors. After a three-year, eight-month stint with Kampala Motors, he joined MPL as brand manager for Movit (a skin care brand). MPL has awarded him numerous trade show awards in category of Best Exhibitor. He was also once the Acting President of the Kyambogo University students’ guild.
Musani began his career at Riley Media as a marketing executive before he was appointed as Kampala Motors’ branch manager in August 2010. There, he managed a dealership selling Subaru and Mahindra automobiles. This dealership generated an annual turnover of US $4 million. He was named brand manager at Movit at MPL in October 2012. He was promoted to the role of Marketing Manager in March 2013 and promoted to the top of the marketing team in January 2016.
Musani then attended St. Peter’s College Tororo for his secondary school education where he served as a voice for students, an assistant house prefect for Bernard Onyango House and also as a furniture prefect. He also served as the chairperson of the Prefects’ Council for Tororo District.
