Batsford teamed up with krautrock/shoegaze group Einstellung for a 2007 concert called “Das Land Ohne Musik”. Batsford accompanied and supported the band during this performance, which highlighted elements of post-rock that were shared by both artists. The concert was recorded live and released as an album in early 2018.

In September 2009, Batsford released Valentine Court, a debut album of solo piano music on his own Mouflon Music label drawing comparisons with minimalist composers Steve Reich and Philip Glass and impressionist Claude Debussy. A new recording of the album was released in 2018 entitled Valentine Court Recaught.

A further concert in 2010 at the Birmingham Buddhist Centre saw the same collaboration.

The series began with Like Fxck’s July 2006 event at the Epic Skate Park, Birmingham. These events saw artists from many disciplines blending their work to create a seamless, immersive event that lasted up to seven hours. The Birmingham Post described it as “destabilizing the existing role of the spectator in performance theatre and drawing the audience into an impressively eclectic, complex mix of art forms.”

Batsford was a singer and main songwriter for Indie Guitar bands, including Maroon, in the 1990s. Two of his short, dark stories were published in fiction magazines in America and the UK. He promoted The GAG Club’s comedy show, booked comedians, was a booking agent, artist agent, and performed stand-up comedy. He also wrote preview articles on classical music and stand-up comedy for Metro Newspaper.
