He also serves as the President/Manager at Sir Fir Books & Music which is an award-winning publishing and children’s music company. Reitz is the author of two children’s books: The Journey of Sir Douglas Fir, A Reader’s Musical, and Second Chance Christmas. A Symphonic Play. Reitz is also a shareholder at Georgia Entertainment Credits. He was a former president of Georgia Production Partnership and a board member.

Reitz was an outstanding baseball player growing up in Rochester’s Henrietta suburb. He never stopped listening to music and the arts. He appeared in South Pacific at the age of 11 as Jerome, a Polynesian boy. Reitz graduated from Rush-Henrietta High School with high honors in 1973. He continued his participation in theater at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where he studied Radio/TV/Film and was awarded cum laude in 1977.

Reitz’s first professional job as an actor was in repertory at the Arts Centre Theater Company, Rochester, New York. Reitz performed in both adult and children’s theaters at the Nazareth College Arts Centre, Pittsford, New York. He also did summer stock with the Mendon Playhouse, Mendon, New York. Reitz moved between Los Angeles and Rochester over the next few years to pursue his acting career. He eventually settled in Atlanta in 1981 with Noel Bagrowski (also from Rochester), who would later become his wife.
