His ring name is Rey Cometa. He works for the Mexican professional wrestling organization Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. Rey Cometa was first known for his work with Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, which spanned 2005 to 2008. He was part of the AAA group Real Fuerza Aerea which consisted of young, high-flying wrestlers. Cometa was not known by his real name, as Mexican masked wrestlers are known. He lost his mask during a September 2012 match. He was a former Mexican National Welterweight Champion.

After losing his mask, Rey Cometa began to help Stuka Jr. with his storyline feud against Namajague. Namajague’s team mate Okumura attacked Stuka Jr. multiple times before Rey Cometa saved him. Over the course of 2012 and 2013, the story between the two sides escalated, with the teams often battling each other almost every week. Stuka Jr. defeated La Fiebre Amarilla, Okumura and Namajague in the main event at the 2013 Homenaje a Dos Leyendas. Okumura had to have his hair shaved and Namajague had to reveal his true name. After the unmasking, the storyline between Namajague & Rey Cometa didn’t end. Instead, it turned to an individual storyline that saw Namajague smashing a pane glass on Rey Cometa’s forehead during a one-on-1 match. The dispute led to CMLL signing a one on one Lucha de Apuestas match between the two, with both their hair on display, at the Arena Mexico 57th anniversary show on April 26, 2013. Cometa won by two to one. Namajague had his hair shaved afterwards. Cometa was a part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW), and CMLL co-produced Fantastica Mania 2014. This tour marked his first in Japan. Cometa was an undercard match worker throughout the tour. He lost to Cavernario on September 19, 2014. This was his first match in Japan. Rey Cometa defeated Barbaro Cavernario to win Mexico’s National Welterweight Championship on June 10. Cometa lost his hair on July 1 to Cavernario during another Lucha de Apuestas. Rey Cometa was defeated by Soberano Jr. in the welterweight finals on May 12, 2017.

Pegasso, Rey Cometa and Rey Cometa used the Real Fuerza Aerea CMLL name at first but renounced it after AAA opposed the use. Pegasso and Rey Cometa were a regular team in CMLL. They often worked the lower end of the card. Rey Cometa, one of the 10 men who were competing for the vacant CMLL World Super Lightweight Championship, was eliminated halfway through the match. Mascara Dorada won the match. Rey Cometa and Blue Panther teamed up to compete in the 2009 Gran Alternativa Tournament. They lost to Mr. Niebla (and Tiger Kid) in the first round. Rey Cometa, one of 12 wrestlers in the Luchas de Apuestas cage match on October 18, 2009 was among twelve. Rey Cometa was sixth to get out of the cage while keeping his mask secure; in the final, Polvora pin Tigre blanco to unmask him. Rey Cometa teamed up with Rouge and Pegasso to defeat Los Guerreros Tuareg, Skandalon, and Hooligan in the opening match at CMLL’s year-end show Sin Salida. Pegasso won the deciding fall. Cometa lost to Puma King in a Lucha de Apuestas on September 14, 2012. Cometa was forced to reveal his true identity after the defeat.

Before making his debut at 16 years old, Gonzalez was trained by Kaoma Jr. and Dragon de Oriente II. Dragon de Oriente I was originally called “Rey Cometa”, but he changed his name to “Dragon de Oriente I” in 1989. Dragon chose to name the “Rey Cometa”, naming Gonzalez “Rey Cometa Jr.” However, the “Junior” part was dropped after just one year. Rey Cometa beat his trainer Kaoma Jr., and Sarpa de Tegre in 2003 in a Luchas de Apuesta (bet-match), where both losers had their hair cut after the match. Rey Cometa was a Mexican independent circuit fighter who won the *Queretaro States Lightweight Championship.

They lost to Oscuridad and Tito Santana. Rey Cometa, Laredo Kid, and Nemesis were two of the founding members in 2006 of Real Fuerza Aerea, which is Spanish for “the Royal Air Force”), an organization of high-flying young wrestlers. Real Fuerza Area, Rey Cometa and Laredo Kid, Super Fly and Nemesis challenged the Black Family (Dark Ozz and Dark Espiritu), for the Mexican National Atomicos Championships at Triplemania XIV. The match was a draw. The match resulted in the Atomicos title being vacated. However, the Black Family won the rematch one month later. Rey Cometa participated in the 2007 Alas de Oro Tournament, but didn’t win. Cometa was a team member of Aero Star, Estrellita and Octagoncito at the 2007 Verano de Escandalo tournament. However, they lost to the team consisting of Alfa, Faby Apache and Gran Apache. The Black Family (Dark Curervos, Dark Ozz and Dark Escoria), won the Real Fuerza Aerea (Cometa and Aero Star) undercard at the 2007 Guerra De Titanes. In 2008, AAA emphasized Aero Star and Super Fly more in stories that took Real Fuerza Aerea away. The remaining members dropped down the card, if any. AAA was disbanded after Rey Cometa and Pegasso worked only intermittently for several months. They started out working as Real Fuerza Aerea for International Wrestling Revolution Group, but soon moved to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. This is Mexico’s oldest and largest wrestling promotion.
