His team reached the NCAA Tournament with many upset wins, including victories against AP-ranked opponents as well as a win against LSU’s NBA first overall selection Ben Simmons. Obasohan was also named SEC Scholar-Athlete-of- the-Year after the 2016 season.
On August 4, 2017, Obasohan signed with Rockets Gotha, newcomer in the German Basketball Bundesliga. On April 1, 2018, he scored a season-high 25 points in a 98–90 win over Eisbären Bremerhaven.
