Richard Cornell, born January 4, 1969, is an American retired professional wrestler better known as Reno. His appearances in World Championship Wrestling (1999 to 2001), where he held WCW Hardcore Championship, are his most well-known.
Reno fought his final match in WCW on March 14, 2001 editions of Thunder. Shawn Stasiak, Reno’s former Natural Born Thrillers partnership, defeated Reno. WCW was bought by the World Wrestling Federation in March 2001. Cornell’s contract was one of the many acquired during the buyout.
Upon being released, Cornell began wrestling for the Australia-based World Wrestling All-Stars under his Reno ring name, where he competed against a number of fellow WCW alumni. He remained with the promotion until its closure in 2003, and subsequently retired from wrestling soon after.
After winning a match against Mike Sanders on August 6, Raw Is War, Cornell was signed to a World Wrestling Federation developmental contract. He was then sent to the Heartland Wrestling Association where he received more training. There he joined Team WCW with other WCW alumni Sanders and Johnny The Bull, Mark Jindrak. Shannon Moore, Evan Karagias. Kwee Wee. Elix Skipper.

Cornell, who had completed his training at World Championship Wrestling’s Power Plant wrestling school, made his WCW television debut on the October 26th edition of WorldWide. He did so in a losing effort against Kid Romeo.
The Thrillers pursued the World Tag Team Championship, while Reno remained more reserved. Reno lost to Sgt. In a tournament final for his belt, Reno went AWOL. Mike Sanders, a fellow Thriller member, was WCW’s Commissioner at that time. However, Reno won the victory and the title. To retain the title, he defeated AWOL at Halloween Havoc.
Reno continued his alliance with Mike Sanders and working with the Natural Born Thrillers until the group’s dissolution in February 2001, after Johnny The Bull reformed The Mamalukes with Big Vito and members Shawn Stasiak and Mark Jindrak began feuding with Sean O’Haire and Chuck Palumbo over the World Tag Team Title.
