Rebecca Marie Stirm, a fashion designer from Belize, was born February 9, 1993. She represented Belize at the 2012 “Mission Catwalk”, which featured top Caribbean designers. Under her signature brand “Twig and Pearl”, she designs handbags and women’s wear using locally sourced materials.

She began her season of rethinking by sourcing local food bi-product leather and building test versions of handbags. She also started to research sustainable business practices, recycling and sustainable production of fashion goods. TWIG and Pearl was born out of her passion for natural materials, respect for artisans, and the need to ensure that the products she designs have minimal environmental impact. TWIG & PEARL was founded with two goals. 1.) All of our products would be made with at least 75% natural materials. We would incorporate artisan skillsets in the design of all our products, at least 75% natural materials and 2. After the bags sold well, she launched her e-commerce website, twigandpearl.com. She has since released new handbag collections and started her own line of natural-fiber clothing. In her handbag collections, she has used exotic hardwoods, beading, and hand-printed materials. She also launched a mini-collection in partnership with OCEANA Belize in fall 2017. This collection was created to raise awareness about the Hawksbill Turtle. Rebecca continues to create and produce leather handbags made from food-biproduct leather and chic natural fiber clothing. All this is done in her small studio in Roaring creek.

Rebecca flew to London in 2014 to represent Belize at Splendours Of The Common Wealth, a charity event that raised money for the CCLEF charity foundation.
