Rebecca Petty is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 13, 1970 in Wichita, United States. Petty defeated Grimsley Graham, a Democratic nominee (born c. 1948), who was an English teacher at Rogers High School. He received 3,508 votes (55.7 percent) and 2,565 (42.2%) in the general election on November 4. This victory came in a Republican-dominated year both locally and nationally.

Andria Nichole Brewer, Petty’s daughter (1987-1999), was strangled to death by Karl Douglas Roberts (born in Polk County c. 1967), the uncle of the child and also the father of the child. Roberts was sentenced on May 24, 2000 to death. He is still among the thirty Arkansas death rowers. Gregory Scott Brewer of Mena, Roberts’ ex-husband (born February 27, 1969), attacked Roberts during the long-running proceedings in the case. Roberts’ mental capacity is still questionable. He has asked to waive his constitutional rights in order to be executed for the crime. Petty had been divorced from Greg Brewer at the time her daughter was murdered.

Petty joined dozens of her fellow Republicans and two Democrats in co- sponsoring legislation in February 2015 submitted by Representative Lane Jean of Magnolia to reduce unemployment compensation benefits. The measure was signed into law by Governor Hutchinson.

In January 2015, Petty proposed legislation before the House Judiciary Committee to allow families of murder victims to witness the executions of the convicted criminals so as to gain some closure to their grief. The legislation passed both houses and was soon signed into law by Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson. The next month Petty proposed legislation to allow executions in Arkansas by firing squad.

Petty served as the executive director of The Andi Foundation for Children from 2000 to 2008. Petty has been the Crime Victim/Child Advocate consultant at the National Criminal Justice Training Center, Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wisconsin, since 2009. She is also a founder of the Surviving Parents Coalition which fights child predators. Petty works with the United States Department of Justice to train Amber Alerts. Petty believes in “keeping our children safe form sexual predators by equipping police with the tools to put criminals behind bars.” John Walsh, the host of America’s Most Wanted TV series, was Petty’s contact because of her advocacy for exploited children. She joined Walsh to lobby for appropriations for Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act in 2006.

Petty polled 878 votes (55.3 percent) to Wolf’s 710 (44.7 percent). The House seat was vacated by the term-limited Debra Hobbs, who ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor; Hobbs was defeated by Tim Griffin, the former U.S. representative for Arkansas’s 2nd congressional district. Petty carried the endorsement of State Senator Bart Hester of Cave Springs.
