Stjerne represented Denmark at the 2014 Winter Olympics and led the team to a 6th place finish with a record of 4-5.

Stjerne participated in five World Junior Championships. In 2004, and 2005, he was third for Kenneth Jorgensen. He did not make the playoffs in either year. In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2008, he skippered his own team to the World Juniors, where they finished fifth, fourth and seventh, respectively. Stjerne’s team reached the playoffs in the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships as the second-ranked. They lost to Canada in the page 2 vs. 2, but they won the semifinal against the United States and beat Canada in final to win gold.
Stjerne steered a team to the 2010 European Curling Championships and led them to the playoffs. Stjerne beat Andy Kapp of Germany in the page 3 against 4 game, and then defeated Christof Schwaller from Switzerland to take on Norway in the gold-medal game. Norway’s Thomas Ulsrud beat Stjerne in a close match, earning him the silver medal. His father Tommy Stjerne defeated him in a tournament that determined the Danish representatives to the 2011 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship. He went along with his father’s team as his coach. Stjerne made it to the European Curling Championships the following year, and lost in the final page 3 vs. 4, to Jiri Snitil from the Czech Republic, which relegated him to the bronze medal match. Stjerne won the bronze medal by defeating Snitil in nine ends his second attempt.
