Swabhimani Paksha’s party formed an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party, and joined NDA in 2014. In 2014, he contested Hatkanangle again and was reelected to Parliament, defeating Kallappa Adade.

Raju Shetti was a member of Sharad Joshi’s Shetkari Sanghatana, a Farmer’s Organization. However, due to disputes with the former, Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana was formed. He fought in the 2001 election for Zilla Parishad, Udgaon constituency. In 2004, Shetti, an Independent, was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly as a Shirol resident. Later, he founded Swabhimani Paksha. He fought in Hatkanangle, India’s 2009 general election as a Swabhimani Paksha Candidate. He defeated Nivedita Sambhajirao Mae, the incumbent MP.
Devappa Anna Shetti, also known as Raju Shetti (Marathi raajuu shettii ), is an Indian politician and former Member of Parliament of India representing Hatkanangle in the 16th Lok Sabha. After seperating from the Shetkari Sanghatana, he is now the president of Swabhimani Pksha. He is also the founder of Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana.
