Rajendra Patel (Gujarati pronunciation: raajendr pttel), is a Gujarati poet, short-story writer, and critic, based in Gujarat, India. Since 2014, he has been Vice President of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. He is best known for his works Jueeni Sugandha, Shri Purant Janse (2009 collection of short stories), and Avagat (2014 collection of criticism). He was awarded three times by Gujarat Sahitya Akademi for his poetry, short stories, and criticism. Jueeni sugandh, his book, was translated into Hindi by Navneet Thakkar as Juhi Ki Mahak (2007). He was also part of the editorial team for Shabdasrishti (a monthly magazine published in Gujarat Sahitya Akademi).
From 2006 to 2009, he was a treasurer at Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in Ahmedabad; a member the Advisory Board for Gujarati Language at Sahitya Akademi New Delhi from 2009-2012; as a joint Secretary of Vanche Gujarat Abhiyan Gandhinagar, 2010 to 2011, as a secretary to Gujarati Sahitya Parishad between 2010 and 2013, and as Vice President of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. He is currently a trustee for Matrubhasha Abhiyan and Director of Anuvad Prtishthan. He also serves as a core team member of Gujarat Literature Festival, Ahmedabad. He also runs a pharmaceutical business.
