Raina’s fourth album, “When May Came”, was released in the early 2010s. It was self-produced with the assistance of Andrew Pressman, bassist, and Stephen Orsak, engineer. Some members of the band, some say Leland, are featured in this recording. The album was mostly recorded live in a South Austin house over four days in September 2009. Constant Clip Records released the album.
Raina Rose, a Portland native, is everything a young female folk singer should be. Although she can sometimes be a bit too young or pushy in her desire to express an overwhelming amount of emotions, she is always sincere, sweet, disarmingly funny, and such a great singer that it’s easy to forgive such mistakes with a grin. Her songwriting, vocal and guitar skills continue to blossom, from her late Gypsy Moths duo to her most recent CD, The Prophet the Panhandler and the Moon.
