She released “Hope”, her debut single, in 2014. The song was co-written by Mutamula Mawale, a renowned Zambian Gospel artist. Since then, the song has been used in many major charity events and helped to raise millions of dollars. “Hope” was performed at the Starkey Hearing Foundation annual Gala, Minneapolis on 26 July 2015. Portia performed the song with a live orchestra led by Paul Petterson. This was in front of President George Bush and President Bill Clinton. Katy Perry also performed separately at the event.
