This movie tells the story of Hannibal, a teenager, and Mischa Lecter, after their parents were killed in World War II. It was directed and released by Peter Webber in 2006. He has had a long-lasting relationship with Ridley Scott, working on films such as American Gangster (2007 and 2008), Body of Lies (2008), and Robin Hood (2010). He most recently worked with Ridley Scott as a director on The Martian. Born in Catania (Sicily), he later moved to Switzerland with the help of his parents. He attended Swiss-German schools through high school. He decided to go to college in the United States after completing his graduation. After spending two years at The University at Albany, The State University of New York he was then accepted to UCLA as an undergraduate. He was able to complete five years at UCLA with the help of a scholarship from Switzerland. In 1985, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from UCLA Film School.

Scalia was inspired by Oliver Stone’s work, particularly Salvador, and decided to join that director. One of his assistant editors was his sister and he made contact. Scalia was involved in films such as Wall Street (1987), and Talk Radio (1988). Later, Scalia served as an associate editor on Born on the Fourth of July as well as as an additional editor on The Doors.
