In 1986, he founded Peter Lehmann Publishing and Mail-order Bookstore in Berlin and published his first book, Der chemische Knebel (The Chemical Gag) (Berlin: Antipsychiatrieverlag 1986) in German through his own Antipsychiatric Publishing House.
