In the early 2000s, Milou created a series of 16 “playing cards”, multi-media oil paintings with Swarovski Crystals as well as decoupage. Each painting had the pop icon that was paired with a suitable symbol and a corresponding quote using various painting techniques to depict the traits of each persona. The series features Bono playing the roles of the two clubs. In 2005 he moved the gallery to a different location down the street. Milou opened his third gallery Galleria 1903 in 2007, continuing to showcase his personal work as well as other local artists. After years as a gallerist in Philadelphia, the businessman in Milou had him looking to other larger markets where more people would be willing to invest in quality artwork at higher price points. After closing Galleria 1903 and leaving Philadelphia, Milou moved to Miami where he opened his fourth gallery in May 2008. Milou Gallery was located in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, where Milou was hoping to capitalize on the art market that was fueled by the annual Art Basel showcase.

Milou began to incorporate sports characters in her paintings as early as the 2000s, particularly when local teams were in the middle of a championship run. A prime example is The Franchise created in 2001 the painting, which is which is a 7×4.5 ft oil painting depicting the 76ers Allen Iverson, Wilt Chamberlain, Charles Barkley, and Julius Erving. “I attempted to depict the four greatest Sixers from the team’s history.” Milou continued to create similar works over the years, with a different instance featuring four quarterbacks of the Eagles including Norm VanBrocklin Ron Jaworski, Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb. In the last few years, Milou created a 48x36in oil portrait of Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz titled Faith in Green. Following victory in the Eagles 2017 NFL Super Bowl LII win, Milou conceived Next Dog Up which is a canvas of 4×5 feet depicting Vince’s trophy, which is with an image of a German shepherd sporting the Eagles helmet. Milou was born and raised in Cheltenham-MountAiry and Haverford suburbs in the vicinity of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his degree at The University of Arizona, where he took classes in graphic design and illustration. While in college in the early 1990s, he was the very first student to persuade that the Bachelor of Fine Arts program to add “open studio” as a major in the year 1990. After college , he relocated back to Philadelphia. Milou lives within Pennsylvania together with his wife daughter , and son.

In the latter part of 1990, at the beginning of his profession, Milou began to open American Milou’s Studio for Children in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. In the early 2000s, Milou took part in various philanthropic organizations like founding the Co-Founders of Philadelphia Art for ALS, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and was a regular patron of CVI and The Cardiovascular Institute of Philadelphia, MOCA Shakers, and Gen. Art. In 2009, Milou presented a series workshops on art called “Palette Kids” while he resided in Miami and in partnership and with Miami Children’s Museum. Milou has sold several of his paintings through silent auctions, and has made donations to charities which included his own retrospective exhibit in 2013 that featured fifty of his own original paintings which were donated to Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society and One Fund Boston. Another was the 2nd Annual Bubby’s Cookoff in 2014 which the proceeds were donated directly to the Friendship Circle Foundation.

In 2001 Milou was commissioned by the Philadelphia Museum of Art to create two large oil paintings. The pair of paintings portrayed the two famous facades of the building using Milou’s take on Van Gogh style techniques. He was commissioned by the museum again in 2007 to paint a portrait of Benjamin Franklin in celebration of the founding father’s 300th birthday.
