Perhat Khaliq (Uyghur: paerht Khlq ULY Perhat Xaliq; Chinese: Pa Er Ha Ti Ha Li Ke ; pinyin: P’erhatiHalike born on July 24 1982) is also called Perhat Xaliq, is Chinese Uyghur pop-rock musician and musician most famous for his appearances during the Chinese reality reality show The Voice of China in the year 2014.
They released their debut Uyghur album in the language of Qetiq The rock of Taklamakan Desert recorded during their journey to Europe during the Morgenland Festival Osnabruck 2010.
In 2015, he and his band Qetiq embarked on their first China tour performing in 22 major cities in 40 days. In May 2015, he received the prestigious Dutch’s Prince Claus Awards for “breathing new life into traditional Uyghur forms”.
At the 2015 Prince Claus Awards, Ong Keng Sen (one of the judges and who is director of Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA)), was very impressed with his performances and invited Perhat to perform in Singapore. He and his band gave a stellar performance at the 2016 SIFA pre-festival O.P.E.N. (Open. Participate. Engage. Negotiate.) on June 23, 2016, which is also their Asian premiere outside of China.
Since 2006 Perhat started his own group Qetiq together with his partner (Pazilet Tursun, a singer) as well as a cousin and friends. Perhat made a living from playing with his band in pubs around Urumqi. The year 2014 saw his performance on the reality show The Voice of China attracted many people’s attention. It also brought light to the issue and altered the perception of China’s ethnic minority Uyghur group.
