Penny Toler is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on March 24, 1966 in Washington, D.C., United States. Virginia Marlita “Penny” Toler (born on March 24 in 1966) was an American basketball executive and former player who was in the past as general director of the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). While playing she was the very first person to score a goal within the WNBA.

In November 1999, she decided to retire as a player and became General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks. Soon after her transition to an administrative role she was able to put together her Los Angeles Sparks roster that would eventually become the team that won the championship in 2001.

Toler was fired as vice president and general manager on October 4, 2019, after the Sparks were swept out of the WNBA semifinals during the 2019 WNBA Playoffs. The move also came after the revelation that Toler entered the Sparks’ locker room following their Game 2 loss and gave an obscenity-laced speech that included the use of the “N-word”.

In the absence of any viable alternatives for professional careers in the United States, Toler began her professional career in Italy where she played two seasons with Montecchio and three with Pescara. Then, she played two seasons playing in Greece as a player for Sporting Flash, and one in Israel for Ramat HaSharon. The year 1997 saw her came back in America. United States to play in the newly formed WNBA.

Toler was a student in San Diego State, sat out for a while, later moved into Long Beach State, where she was an All-American Basketball player. In her time, Long Beach State made it to the Final Four twice, in 1987 and 1988.
