Pauline Tallen is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on January 8, 1959 in Shendam, Nigeria. Pauline Kedem Tellen OFR was (born on January 8, 1959 ). It is an Nigerian politician currently serves as the the Minister of Women Affairs. The position was vacated in the year 2019 by the President Muhammad Buhari after turning down the ministerial appointment in 2015 on the basis that she had not been consulted before the announcement, and that she was not willing to take the proposal for an the equal distribution of power between all three districts in her plateau state because she was from the similar local governments as governor Simon Lalong.

In 1999 the minister was named Minister of State in 1999 for Science and technology in the cabinet of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. She was appointed Governor’s deputy in Plateau State and the first woman to serve as an assistant governor for northern Nigeria. She also ran for governor in 2011, but was unsuccessful but was defeated by Jonah Jang. She is currently a member board of trustees for All Progressive Congress, and was recognized as the women of the year in recognition of her contributions to Nigeria in the 10th African Icon of Our Generation Award. She is also a board member of the National Agency for the Control of Aids(NACA)

Before 2015 general elections, she decamped from PDP to APC, a move she believed angered some people in her state. However, she described the move as a calling from God, with no regrets. In 2015, she rejected an ambassadorial nomination by President Buhari, citing federal character and zoning in her state as reasons. In an interview with Leadership Newspaper, she explained that as deputy governor she contested against the governor for the betterment of the state and because the governor didn’t have the interest of the people at heart. She also stated that the victory of President Buhari at the 2015 general elections was divinely orchestrated.

She was married to John Tallen, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party who passed away in 2017. She has five children.

In 1999 her appointment was made Minister of State for science and technology. She was the first woman appointed as minister in that capacity by the president of the time, Olusegun Obasanjo.
