After her departure from the band, Henry embarked on a solo career. She scored 5 UK Top 40 hits from 1993 between 1993 and 1996.
In 2016 Henry recorded a new rendition of The Chimes’ song “Heaven” to be included in the expanded re-issue of The Chimes’ only album.
Henry was then able to begin a solo career. She released her debut single “Too Many People”, which reached the top spot of No. 38 for the UK at the end of September. Her second track, which was a cover of the Bad Company song “Feel Like Making Love” made it a number one smash throughout the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. The album that Henry released as her debut, Pauline, was released in 1994 and climbed to the top 50 in both the UK in the UK and Australia. The second album by Henry, Do Over, consisting of cover versions of other artists’ tracks, was released in 1996.

In the beginning of 1988 in the early part of 1988, Scottish-based Mike Peden and James Locke were planning to form a group to record tunes they’d composed however, they had not yet discovered the right singer. Henry’s name was mentioned to them and, after hearing her voice on the phone, they set up to meet with her. In the beginning, they wanted Henry to sing songs that they had written themselves The group soon morphed into a partnership in which Henry also played a role in the writing of the songs. The group was named The Chimes, the group were signed to CBS Records after a representative from the label watched the band at a live show in Edinburgh.
The group’s debut single, “1-2-3”, produced by Jazzie B and Nellee Hooper, was released in August 1989. It was a top 10 hit at No. 60 across the UK. They’re version “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” proved to bring the group more success, getting to the top spot of. 6 . in UK in the year following. The Chimes self-titled debut album came out in the year 1990 and climbed to the top 20 of the charts in Australia, the UK, Australia, Austria as well as New Zealand. While the subsequent singles didn’t do so well in the charts, the group disbanded in 1991.
