Paul Ziemiak is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on September 6, 1985 in Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. Paul Ziemiak (born 6 September 1985, alias Pawel Ziemiak) is Polish-born German politician from the CDU who has served in the position of Secretary General for his CDU party since December 2018 under the direction of the chairwoman, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. He is an elected participant in the Bundestag.

On November 25, 2012, Ziemiak was elected as the state chairperson for the Junge Union NRW and held this position until the 15th of November 2014. The year 2014 was the time he took the presidency election of the Junge Union against Benedict Poettering and was elected with an overwhelming 63 percent vote. This was the first candidate for the post since 1973. Ziemiak also is a part of the CDU Federal Board and was replaced by Philipp Missfelder, who did not run for re-election. On the 14th of October, 2016 Ziemiak was elected again Federal Chairman, with 85% of votes.

In the negotiations to form a fourth coalition government under the leadership of Chancellor Angela Merkel following the 2017 federal elections, Ziemiak was part of the working group on families, women, seniors and youth, led by Annette Widmann-Mauz, Angelika Niebler and Katarina Barley.

In the federal election 2017, Ziemiak ran as successor to Ingrid Fischbach in the constituency Herne – Bochum II, but lost to Michelle Müntefering. Nevertheless, he moved to the Bundestag via the state party list. He has since been serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Since 2005, Ziemiak is an active part of Ziemiak’s Catholic group the AV Widukind Osnabruck within the CV. Additionally, he’s an active member of the Catholic student fraternity KDStV Winfridia (Breslau) Munster.

Ziemiak was born in Szczecin, Polish People’s Republic. He emigrated to Germany’s then-West in 1988 along with his parents who wanted to escape the restrictions of Communist Poland as well as that of the Eastern Bloc. Ziemiaks Ziemiaks included among nearly 140,000 Polish citizens who emigrated to Germany during that time in the days before the collapse of Communism. As a family of German origin, they were granted the German citizen’s citizenship as per Germany’s right to return laws. Ziemiak was a bilingual child with parents who were native Polish speakers , and who spoke German as an additional language. He claims that the family was ethnically Polish as well. Ziemiak joined Ziemiak joined the Young Union in 1998, then in 2001 he joined the CDU. From 1999 to 2001 , he served as the chairman for the recently established Children and Youth Parliament of the city of Iserlohn. In 2002, he was an elected District Council member for the Junge Union in the Markischer Kreis. In 2006, he became a member of the state council for the JU NRW. In 2007, he was an executive member of the state board. In 2009, he was appointed to the direction of the District Association of the Junge Union Sudwestfalen (South Westphalia). Since 2011, he has been the chairperson of the CDU Iserlohn and as a member on the Board of CDU Parliamentary group within the city council of Iserlohn. In addition, he’s part in the District Executive Committee of CDU Sudwestfalen.

From 2014 until 2018, Ziemiak served as federal chairman of the Junge Union Deutschlands, in this capacity being a part of the CDU leadership under chairwoman Angela Merkel. In the 2017 federal election, he was elected as a member of the Bundestag as the direct representative of the constituency of Herne – Bochum II.
